Garden Clubs
True systemic changes starts at the ground level. In our case---that's literal! Like reading, once food skills are taught, you can never lose them. This means that if we are able to teach a family how to grow food for themselves, in an efficient, manageable way, generations within a family will have those skills.
Gardens Clubs are comprised of 5 family cohorts that are neighborhood based. For a nominal fee, we install a 4x10ft raised bed along with seeds and starts using the Square Foot Gardening Method. Throughout the growing season, families are mentored by one of our Farmers in Residence. The cohort is brought together for on-farm events, sharing a meal, building relationships and seeing how we scale the skills they're learning in their own backyards. Lastly, as the Garden Club expands, neighbors share their knowledge (and recipes), bringing the broader community together.
