At Foundation Farms WA, we believe that real change starts at the roots—literally and figuratively. In a time when communities more disconnected and our food system is in peril, we’re working to rebuild something essential: a place where people can grow not just food, but skills, relationships, and purpose.

Our mission is grounded in a simple but powerful vision: Sovereignty through Skills, Belonging through Relationship, Community through Service. These aren’t just words to us—they guide everything we do. Through our unique Incubator Farm Program we teach regenerative agriculture in a cohort setting.  In addition to skill development and business planning, farmers learn to put their skills to use in the community through our Farmer in Residence Program,  This program aids service agencies that support under-served persons in our communities through thoughtful garden design and maintenance.   Through our efforts we’re cultivating more than crops, we’re cultivating a resilient community! 

Foundation Farms is built on the idea of small niche farming with a community mindset. That means focusing on thoughtful, regenerative practices while staying deeply connected to the people we serve. Whether it’s teaching a neighborhood how to grow their own food through one of our Garden Clubs, or offering opportunities for service like our Monthly Maintenance Mob weeding parties at various gardens around town, or joining a session of The Fix-it Fellows a group that gathers together to complete a wood-working project that will be of use in the community, every part of our work is rooted in connection.

But we can’t do this alone.
